the brief

STIGA creates powered gardening tools for a variety of users, from beginners to professionals. Different user requirements, power ratings and duty cycles require subtle differences in interpretation of the design language. STIGA have defined the ESSENTIAL, EXPERIENCE and EXPERT ranges to meet the needs of all gardeners. Our aim was to develop a sophisticated industrial design language, that would work to communicate the STIGA brand with the correct tone of voice for each market segment.

the design

The design styles of both ranges, while still being recognisably ‘STIGA’, are differentiated by their application and interpretation of the design guidelines. The EXPERIENCE range is more angular and directional with a more sober colour balance and textured form which emphasises its use as a serious tool for the larger garden.

The ESSENTIAL range embraces ‘approachability’, with elegant, robust monocoque forms. Both ranges are successful interpretations of the STIGA Industrial Design Guidelines, making them recognisably part of the STIGA family.

The design language is versatile enough to work across diverse products, including the new robot lawnmowers and electric ride-on mowers.
